Wow where has the month gone. Sorry it has been so long since I have updated this site. However I am back on course and will try to be more responsible.
We were closed the week before and the week between Christmas and New Years. We have been busy updating the Membership booklet. This is the first year I have done it. What a job! I truly appreciate Phillip Callas and his many years of updating the booklet. There are still some mistakes even tho we all proofed it several times. I hope to get better as I do it. They are ready for pickup at the museum on Fridays and at the Feb. meeting. Please help us save the cost of postage and pick yours up.
Plans are perking right along for the 150th celebration of the James H. Baugh Homestead which includes the Historic Park. We will be hosting the ANFRAM meeting on August 17th and we are looking forward to it with some special suprises.
We will also be joining with the Carnation Festival in holding a special day on Sat. the 15th of Aug. At the Baugh house on 44th and Robb and at the Historic Park. We are making arrangements now for a Teamster to show how plowing was done with horses. We will have many old fashioned household arts and other displays and demostrations. Mark your calanders for an old fashioned day at the James Baugh Homestead and Historic Park.
NEW DISPLAYS:
We have a lovely Valentine display in the museum, please come and enjoy this display it will be up until March.
Then we will be featuring all of our household chores implements. It promises to be a great display and one that will make the women in the house greatful they live in 2009.
FUN ACTIVITIES AT THE HISTORIC PARK
The Red Haters will be joining us for a tea and light lunch in the Sod House on Valentines day. We have some really special suprises for them and are looking forward to hosting these lovely ladies.
If your club would like to have an old fashionded tea in the soddy please contact. Chris Ross at 303-423-0989 to get on the calender and for prices. This promises to be a great fun way to raise money to support the Museum. We expect this to be one of our more popular on going events. |
