Feburary has started out with a bang. Even the storms haven't stopped people from visiting at the Wheat Ridge Historical Park.

We still do not have the signs put back from the July 20th Strom or the windows replaced.  It is the city's responsiblity to do these things.  If it is bothering the citizens please let the city know.

Wow are Oral Histories are getting a lot of use.  We are in the process of finishing the putting the collection of over 100 Oral Histories on Master CD's. These are a great resource for children doing early Colorado History.  Right from those who lived here and homesteaded in Wheat Ridge and the surrounding area.  We are now branching out and collecting Oral histroies from those who grew up during the Great Depression.

At our Last meeting at the museum Feburary 9th 2010 Don Whetsel told about growing up on the Plains of South Dakota in the 30's and early 40's.  His experiences on the rural farm of his folks kept everyone spell bound.  This CD will be ready for purchase in a couple of months.

We also mail CD's to family and friends for a small fee.  They make a great present for grandkids studying the "Way it was Back then" .

We have had quite a few visitors and some of the White family who's parents grew up in the Soddy still stop by to chat.

If you school is looking for a neat hands on museum to tour we are still taking reservations we do ask for a $2.00 per person donation and you need to make reservation by calling Charlotte 303-423 0989 or Claudia 303-467-0023 to make arrangments.
