UPCOMING EVENTS

            HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETING MAY 10TH

        Smile    MAY 25TH WHEAT RIDGE QUILTING CIRCLE meets at  the museum all are welcome. 10:30-2:30

           MAY FESTIVAL 2ND SAT. MAY 14TH 4610 ROBB ST.  WHEAT RIDGE , CO. 10a.m.-4pm

                        MUSIC BY JOANN AND HER BLUE GRASS BAND. BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT AND JOIN IN THE FUN!

                        Demonstrations:

Quilting, Rug Braiding, Spinning, Bobbin Lace, Tatting, Crocheting, and Knitting.

                        Presentation:

                                    ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUG MAKING GUILD have made two rugs for the Baugh house, upstairs bedrooms.  They will be presented to the Historical Society, between 11:30-12,  at the Baugh House.

                        Lunch will be at about 1:00 p.m. ADULTS $6:OO  KIDS 12 & UNDER $4:00

MAY POLE DANCE.

Depending on the weather.  We will have the MAY POLE DANCE. Between  2-3:00  All may join in lots of fun and picture oppurtunities.

APPRAISALS :

DO TO OTHER COMMITMENTS,  ERON JOHNSON WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO APPRAISALS.

APRIL 1 2016

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY,

Sorry I did not get this updated in March got the terrible virus been in bed until today. Sorry I missed you at the museum today.:)

March Meeting March 8th 2016 

 The Wheat Ridge Historical Society met at 7:30 P.M. President Claudia Worth, Secretary Idella Lewis, Treasurer Deb Bolig, Jane Harvey, Dave Curtis, Charlotte and Don Whetsel, Janice Horn, Janet White Bradford, Bob Briggs were in attendence. 

Claudia Worth said she thought Jane should be called Museum Manager.

Claudia Callas is going to make up a flier to be at the indoor farmers market.

Treasurers re[prt $379.47 in checking $1342.00 in savings.

The quilting Circle helped to put the labels on the quilts that were documented by The Colorado Quilt Council. ( come down and see the beautiful book that the Jane put togeather celebrating our beauthiful quilts)

Deb Bolig will get some publicity for the Quilt Display at the Bough House in August during the Carnation Festival.

Menu for the May Festival, will be Ham sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, Chips, Rubarb Dessert. Water to drink

The program was given by Bob Briggs on the carnation industry.  He volunteere to talk about the canation industry at the Carnation Festival.

Claudia Worth provided green sherbet floats with 7-up. The meeting waw adjourned at 9;00p.m.

Museum Report

All of our 42 Quilts that were documented have had te additional lables sewn  on thanks to Jane Harvey and the Members of the Wheat Ridge Quilting Circle. The remaining quilt needs some repairs.

The Wheat Ridge Quilting Circle met at the museum March 30th a week late because of the Big March Blizzard.

There will be a Quilt Documentation at the Jefferson Unitarian Church located on West 32nd , West of Youngfield and West of the Roundabout on the South side of the street. The cost is $8.00 per quilt. there is a limit of 5 Quilts per person.  The date is Saturday April 16, 2016, 9 am until 12 noon. Jean Decker will provide us with forms if we let Jane Harvey know if you need a form. The first page needs to be filled out in advance.

MAY FESTIVAL MAY 14TH FROM 10 AM TO 4 P.M See the minutes above for the menu. We will have a quilt frame set up, in the yard along with rug making, spinning, tatting Crocheting, knitting , Bobbin Lace. If the spring snows are still active we will have all demostrations in the Musuem and Lunch in the soddy and Johnsom cabin.  

The may Pole will be around 2 P.M. IF IT DOESN'T RAIN, SNOW ETC.
