We Missed You

Heritage Day at the Baugh House was delightful.  If you missed it we are sorry. The homemade ice cream was awsome cool, silky and absolutely delicious.  The peach was the best.  Made with peaches canned several weeks ago at the museum.  MMMM my taste buds are still remembering the adventure of fresh made ice cream.  Why do we buy that stuff with all the chemicals at the store?

The Baugh House and cabin restoration is moving right a long.  The piping for the heat is in the floor and the boiler is wired.  A slight detour in the progress has had to be made as Bill Bailey and his trusted side kick John Ross are repairing the roof from the damage done in the July 20th 2009 storm.  The roof that Bill put on did not appear to us to need replacing. But the insurance company has a thing that if there was a storm then the roof had to be replaced even though just a few shingles were actually damaged. That's our modern world we live in.  The Insurance Companies Rule.

Mark your calendars for next year 2ND SATURDAY IN AUGUST, For this delightful day. We are already making plans and are sure to surprise you with something new added to this great day.

CIDER DAY is quickly approaching.  OCTOBER 9TH at the musuem.  We expect a great turn out as the trees in the area are loaded with apples.  Be sure and wash them and bring your own jars for the juice.  We are charging $3.00 to use our cider presses per gallon of juice. This is a fund raiser for the museum.

We are responsible for all the displays in all 5 buildings and all the expenses that go along with running the Historic Park and buildings.  The City of Wheat Ridge Pays for the maintence of the buildings and the grounds.

Our next display will be "Tools of Reporters of the News in the Olden Days"  Stop by and see the how it was done before computers, and the evening Television News..,..

We will resuming our monthly meetings, September 14th at 7:30 p.m., in the museum at 4610 Robb St.
