The Pioneer Sod House

The Pioneer Sod House, built around 1886 during Mr. Baugh's tenure was probably the only way to build a shelter known to his hired hands. Log cabins were being built at this time in the area.  The Soddy is a National Historic Site earning the designation for being the oldest house built of Tall Prairie Grass this close to the mountains.
